Frequently Asked Questions

What does “notional learning hours” mean?
Notional learning hours represent the total time an average student would need to complete a programme, including: guided learning (videos, live sessions), independent study, assignments, and assessment. This is the standard measurement used in the Caribbean Qualifications Framework.

Q3:
Are the certificates internationally recognized?
Our programmes are designed to align with international professional standards (ICAEW, ACCA) and the Caribbean Qualifications Framework. While our institutional recognition application is currently under review by the NAB, our certificates demonstrate competency-based learning and can be used for professional development, career advancement, and RPL applications.

Q4:
Can I switch between pathways?
Absolutely! While pathways provide a structured sequence, you’re free to mix and match courses based on your evolving interests and goals. Our academic advisors can help you create a personalized learning plan.

Q5:
What if I need to pause my studies?
We understand that life happens. You can pause your enrolment for up to 6 months and resume where you left off. For Term 3 Fellowship, extensions are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Q6:
Do you offer scholarships or financial aid?
Yes, we have limited scholarships for qualifying students who demonstrate financial need and commitment. We also offer payment plans for all paid courses and fellowships. Contact info@horizonbridge.academy to discuss options.

Q7:
How does the external examination work for Term 3?
Term 3 capstone projects are reviewed by qualified industry professionals external to HBA. This includes: (1) written project assessment, (2) live investor presentation before an expert panel, and (3) viva voce (oral defense). This ensures your work meets professional standards.

Q8:
Can I use HBA courses for professional CPD requirements?
Yes! Our courses are designed to meet continuing professional development (CPD) requirements for various professional bodies. Each course specifies notional learning hours that can be claimed for CPD. Check with your professional body for specific requirements.
